BEN Westwood says being left out at Catalan Dragons was a ‘kick up the backside’ and he is ready to send Warrington fans crazy by sealing a trip to Wembley.

The forward sat out Wolves’ win in France, but is feeling fresh heading into the business end of the season.

“It was a bit of a kick up the backside as I haven’t been good enough the past few weeks,” said the joint-skipper.

“He (Tony Smith) decided not to play me but I went with the boys and it was great to come away with the win.

“I’m feeling pretty good at the minute, the rest has probably done me good. It’s not very often you come into the back end of the year with five games to play feeling quite fresh.”

The three-time Challenge Cup winner expects things to be hotting up in the town as Wolves approach the semi-final stage.

Westwood added: “It’s an exciting week for everybody, not just us players but everybody in the town.

“It’s great to be involved, there’s a great prize at the end of it to walk out at Wembley and so we’ll be looking forward to it.

“We’ve got a chance. We’ll do everything in our power to do things right and make good decisions so this town can go crazy.”
