TONY Smith believes Warrington Wolves need to improve on their performance at Catalan Dragons if they are to beat Leeds Rhinos in the Challenge Cup semi final on Saturday.

Wolves put behind them successive defeats to Widnes and Wakefield to win 26-24 in France on Friday.

Smith is confident his side are learning every week and is pleased to have almost a whole squad to choose from for Saturday’s clash.

“We’re enjoying what we’re doing at the moment, we’re getting better, we’re a strong team and we have our weeks when we don’t do things so well and we learn our lessons from that,” said Smith.

“We did a lot of things really well at the weekend, a few things that we need to be better at come Saturday and we had some discussions about that – we’ll have to go up another notch or two this week.

“A lot of players are knocking at the door, some sat out last week to have a freshen up and some put their hand up pretty strongly last week.”
