MATTY Russell will miss the trip to Catalan Dragons on Friday after suffering a head injury in the loss to Wakefield.
The fullback was replaced in the second half after taking a blow to the head, appearing to lose consciousness for several minutes.
Russell did recover to take his feet and did not need to be stretchered off, although boss Tony Smith says he will miss Wolves’ next fixture.
“He’s ok, he’s got his wits about him but won’t be able to play on Friday,” said Smith.
“It’s a short turnaround and because he’s suffered a concussion it means a mandatory miss the next game.
“Matty won’t be playing on Friday, but that’s a side issue. First and foremost he’s ok and sitting up aware.
“I thought he was outstanding, a real spark in our team today. For him to get a head knock, he can’t remember much about it so we’ll have to show him through the week.”
