A HALF back who played for Warrington Wolves in three positions against Bradford Bulls in the Challenge Cup quarter final success made 41 tackles.

Wolves' head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith was full of praise for Stefan Ratchford, who started the season at full back.

At the Provident Stadium Odsal he made his first start for the club at loose forward, where he had spent some time as cover in the previous week's Super League win against Leeds Rhinos.

Smith said: "He was outstanding I thought.

"Forty-one tackles from Stef, playing loose forward/ right second row / left half back.

"There were a lot of dummy half runs as well from him. Very good."

Smith said he couldn't fault any of his players against Bradford.

"I thought they were all solid and worked hard for each other.

"They've been doing that for a while now and stringing some victories together as well as performances so I'm pleased with their progress and the way they're going about it.

"I think we're playing some attractive rugby league among it, it's not just completions, completions, completions. I'm pleased about that aspect as well. We've been asking more questions of our opponents over the past six or seven weeks."
