LEEDS Rhinos come to town looking to record a Super League double over Wolves this season.

Wolves beat Friday’s visitors twice on home turf last year, including a 40-20 victory in the play-offs in September when Ben Westwood scored four tries.

That win came two years after Rhinos ended Wolves’ own Grand Final dreams with Kevin Sinfield kicking a late penalty. The stand off already has 48 Super League goals this campaign.

The sides have taken seven wins apiece from meetings at The Halliwell Jones Stadium, with Tony Smith inflicting upon his future employers a 52-10 mauling in 2007.

Lee Briers scored the winning drop goal in the last minute of this fixture last season, but Brian McDermott’s side have already got the better of Wolves this year.

Rhinos’ 18-12 reverse of Smith’s side in February at Headingley Carnegie is one of 11 Super League wins that have catapulted them to the top of the pile, one point above St Helens.

Beginning to look like favourites for the League Leaders’ shield, they have slipped up only twice this campaign, first in a 14-10 loss at St Helens in March and then to Wigan Warriors at Magic Weekend.

And the Rhinos boast some of the division’s most in-form players in Ryan Hall and Zak Hardaker.

Winger Hall is second in the Super League scoring charts with 13 tries so far this season and Hardaker is the top metre maker on 2,165.

Tom Briscoe arrived from Hull FC last season and the winger already has eight tries to his name, making him Rhinos’ second top scorer behind Hall.
