HUDDERSFIELD Giants will be looking to bounce back from a surprising defeat in Perpignan to Catalan Dragons last weekend when they host Warrington Wolves on Sunday.

If records are anything to go by it could prove difficult for the Claret and Golds, who have lost to Wolves on the past nine occasions and suffered 14 defeats from 18 meetings during Tony Smith’s reign.

Huddersfield have also conceded 45 tries in their past eight encounters with Wolves, who put on a total of 253 points in that spell.

Giants’ last victory against Wolves was a 29-10 home win in April 2011 and they will hope Jermaine McGillvary, who has scored a try in each of the sides’ last three meetings, can add to his six already this season.

The League Leaders’ Shield holders were beaten 30-14 in France and have suffered mixed form in the Super League so far this campaign.

They opened with a 24-8 win at Wigan, while draws against Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos came either side of defeat to Widnes Vikings before they put 66 points on Bradford Bulls two rounds ago.

Paul Anderson’s side will be hoping to emulate the club’s ‘Team of All Talents’ at the John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday, where they will wear a commemorative kit.

The 2014 squad will don jerseys featuring a picture of the Giants’ 1914 record-breaking side as March 30 marks exactly 100 years since Albert Rosenfeld crossed for his 80th try of the season.

The round seven tie pits Grix brothers Simon and Scott against one another, while England’s second rowers Ben Westwood and Brett Ferres also clash in what could prove a key battle.
