WARRINGTON Wolves recovery sessions for players are like a breath of fresh air.
Chief photographer Mike Boden nipped into a recovery session between the Salford Red Devils and Wigan Warriors matches and was met with a hive of activity.
A row of players receiving massage treatment, others flat out on their backs with air masks on their faces and others following weights programmes.
In this modern world of high collision Super League contested by super-fit athletes, the way the players recover between matches as a key area of their preparations.
And the air masks is an indication of the way science now plays a crucial part.
As seen in these pictures, the masks are providing the players with air at high altitude - making them breathe deeper to fill up their lungs.
It’s not like it used to be in the good old days!
