WARRINGTON'S young players overcame a hulking Waterloo pack to progress to the semi-final of the Lancashire Cup.

The visitors -harbouring an England international forward in their ranks- opened the scoring with a penalty, only for Warrington to hit back with a brilliant individual try by scrum-half Ben Hockenhull.

Waterloo regained the lead on half time when their number eight crossed, with two converted penalties after the break putting the visitors two tries ahead early in the second half.

Things were looking bleak for Warrington as they struggled to gain possession, but in the last 10 minutes their superior fitness began to show and Matt Fleming's try gave Warrington hope.

They soon completed the turnaround when Jack Gray went down the left to touchdown in the corner and Max Caldwell rounded off the scoring with another solo effort to kill off the game.
