Birkenhead Park 2nd 66 Warrington 2nd 0
WARRINGTON were served a cold shower of reality against Birkenhead Park following the previous week's comfortable win against Fylde's thirds.
A strong Park second string overwhelmed Warrington's mix of young players and a sprinkling of veterans.
Although they tackled manfully throughout, with scrum-half Ollie Hudson outstanding in only his second open-age game, they were unable to stem the tide.
Colts captain Harry Kellett led the forwards with an authority way beyond his years and was courageously supported by another debutant in second row Jacob White.
Captain Shaun Yoxall said “ They had too much talent and experience on show but I am particularly proud of our youngsters who stood up well to the onslaught and who I am sure will not be daunted by the result.”
