Eagle 13 Ormskirk 16
EAGLE’S play-off hopes hang in the balance after their third defeat in a row.
The hosts trailed 13-0 at Thornton Road thanks to a try and two penalties, but Dean Talbot-Bennett’s try got Danny Cahill’s side on the board.
Ashley Losh crossed after the break to level matters for Eagle and the home side then went on the offensive to try and edge ahead, but Ormskirk’s defence held firm.
The visitors then went back in front via another penalty, and that was the way it stayed.
Eagle must now pick up a bonus-point victory at North Manchester in their final game on Saturday, January 27, and hope other results go their way in order to make the play-offs.
