Clitheroe 0 Eagle 47
SCRUM-HALF Jason Jackson believes Eagle will soon catch up with unbeaten Garstang at the top of Lancs/Cheshire Division Three North.
Si Counsell and Scott Gerrard scored twice as the Thornton Road outfit ran riot in tricky conditions at Clitheroe on Saturday, with Joe Miller and Ashley Losh also scoring.
The win was Eagle’s fourth league success in a row and Jackson, who added a try and six goals, believes things are coming together.
“Last week, it took us 70 minutes to get going. Kicks were missed and penalties were conceded,” he said.
“This week we clicked and took our chances well, despite playing in some pretty muddy and wet conditions.
“If we keep on like this we will start to creep up on that top place.”
Eagle welcome Old Bedians to Thornton Road on Saturday, kick off 2.15pm.
