WARRINGTON RUFC are expecting the 2017/18 season to be the toughest they have experienced and are now stepping up their preparations.

All three senior teams are facing testing times ahead, with the first team set to find North One West even more competitive with the introduction of sides like Stockport, Firwood Waterloo and Manchester.

“We are seeing good numbers at every session but would still welcome new players, at any level, to help us meet our new challenges," said coach Andy Roberts.

Trial games are arranged at Otley on August 12 and at Widnes a week later, while the campaign opens with a Lancashire Cup tie against Eccles on August 26.

Pre-season training is every Tuesday and Thursday at Bridgewater High School from 7pm.

Additional players interested in getting involved at Warrington should turn up to a training session.
