LYMM head to Doncaster’s Castle Park on Saturday, January 7, aiming to end a losing streak.
Adam Fletcher’s side ended 2016 with three straight defeats but Lymm’s first outing of the new year in RFU National League Three marks the return fixture of one of the best wins so far this season.
When newly promoted Doncaster Phoenix, who share Championship club Doncaster Knights’ facilities, visited Beechwood in September a hat-trick of tries, four conversions and two penalties from winger Cormac Nolan helped Lymm to a 54-14 victory.
Lymm, currently ninth in the table, have won just three of 11 fixtures since, their last being a 66-16 demolition of Stockport at the end of November.
Phoenix’s sequence of losses goes back eight matches, with their four wins so far having all come in October after that heavy loss to Lymm.
