LYMM head to Humberside on Saturday looking for a win to keep them in touch with National League Three North’s top half.

Currently ninth, they visit a Hull RUFC outfit currently one place and four points behind.

Lymm, without a match at the weekend, lost on their last two outings against Billingham and Kendal.

The seconds and thirds are scheduled to play league games at home against Waterloo and Village Spartans respectively on Saturday.

They will be looking for improved fortunes too after the seconds fell 86-5 at Fylde’s seconds in the Brooke Edgley Specialist Technical Services Cup, while the thirds conceded a Lighting & Building Services Bowl tie away to Penrith’s seconds.

Fylde’s team contained players with National League One experience but Lymm battled hard for 40 minutes, scoring an excellent try through Reece Forrest and defending tenaciously.

However, with injuries to Peter Millachip and John Long, the superior fitness and strength of Fylde eventually told.

Lymm never gave up, with Jake Ashall and James Lewis leading from the front.

Lymm: J Reynolds, R Forrest, J Ashall, J Lewis, N Johnstone, W Titherington, M Gill, P Millachip, J Long, J Widdrington, A Halford, B Wass, M Hill, J Watson, O Thornton. Replacements: J Cartwright, Adi.

Progress in the Lighting & Building Services Plate was secured by Lymm’s fourths with a 58-12 victory over Ellesmere Port.

Lymm under 18s had a ‘walkover’ home win over Caldy, who conceded the match.
