TABLE toppers Eagle remain undefeated this season after a 38-22 home success against Congleton at the weekend.
They will seek to defend their fine Cheshire South record, which includes six wins and a draw, at Dukinfield on Saturday.
The Thornton Road boys' latest success was built on a platform not typical of the campaign so far - a fast start.
Three quickfire tries from Michael Bridge, Sam Cook and David Heathwood put Eagle in control within 15 minutes.
A lack of discipline allowed Congleton to cut the deficit to 21-8 by the break and they clawed back to 26-22 at one stage.
It took a turnover in Eagle's own half to finally break the game with the first of two tries in the late stages from JP Ainsworth.
