Morley 22 Lymm 59

COACH Adam Fletcher praised fly half Rhys Jones after his Lymm side beat Morley in National League Three North on Saturday.

Number eight Andrew Kerr opened the scoring after two minutes, before Nolan added a second and also converted.

Andy Rowley then intercepted from 50 metres to open a 19-0 lead.

Rowley crossed again three minutes later, sparking a reprieve and two tries from Morley.

But Jake Ecclestone added to the Lymm lead, and it was 40-12 by the break after Tom Bray crossed.

They did not let off in the second half, Ecclestone Bray and Nolan all crossing again.

Fletcher said: “We anticipated a desperate fight early doors, from relegation-threatened Morley, but scoring 26 points in the first 20 minutes won us the game basically.

“I was particularly pleased with our fly-half Rhys Jones who kicked really well out-of-hand.

“He is maturing into the role, and young Joe McGrail is a great talent.”
