WARRINGTON scraped a victory in a tough game at New Brighton in North West One on Saturday.

They dominated the opening plays and the first score came via Steve Pilkington finishing in the corner.

New Brighton soon replied with a penalty and 15 minutes later they crossed on the right for an unconverted try.

Luke Wood made amends for two earlier misses with a penalty to level the scores at the break and the second half belonged to Warrington.

Another penalty from Wood gave the visitors a three-point lead before Steve Pilkington touched down.

New Brighton forced a penalty to ensure the losing bonus point.

Warrington 2nd 41 Altrincham Kersal 2nd 34

A SECOND-HALF comeback against Altrincham in Standish Media Services Division One on Saturday saw Warrington seconds keep their winning run in tact.
Warrington conceded 14 points before Tony Fretwell burrowed over from short range, but Altrincham increased their lead with a third try before half time.
A 34-point rally from the hosts followed with tries from Jordan Noone, two, Jon Bennett and Josh Downes. Ben Hockenhull added points with the boot.

Crewe & Nantwich 2nd 8 Warrington 3rd 12

WARRINGTON’S third string moved to the top of Raging Bull North West Division Two South with an impressive win over third-placed Crewe and Nantwich on Saturday.
The hosts opened the scoring with a long range try. Both sides then fought to find an opening before Craig Byrne blasted his way through with a typical bulldozing run. Shaun McDermott converted.
The hosts went ahead again with a penalty but Dan Griffiths’ try then won it for Warrington.
