Liverpool Collegiate 2nd 17 Lymm 2nd 47
LYMM progressed to the quarter final of the League Cup with a comfortable win at Liverpool Collegiate on Saturday.
The away side started well and had a try disallowed in the first minute for a forward pass but it was Collegiate who struck first with an unconverted effort.
Lymm responded immediately and tries from Mark Wells, two, Richie McEvoy and Richard Halford, amid another from the hosts saw Lymm 28-10 up at half time.
Wells completed his hat-trick soon into the second half before Tom Shard and Darren Norman finished off the scoring for the visitors.
Liverpool refused to lie down and broke through the Lymm defence once more.
Lymm look to be taking the difficult route to final as another away trip awaits in the last eight, this time against Rossendale.
Lymm: Coon, Millington, Broadbent, Halford, Kahau, Millachip, Halford, Rashid, Boaden, Jones, Wells, Gough, McEvoy, Norman, Shard.
