Warrington 3rd 84 St Edwards 3rd 24

WARRINGTON racked up 13 tries in a 10-a-side clash with St Edwards.

The numbers were reduced from 15-a-side due to St Edwards being unable to raise a full side, but it worked to Warrington’s advantage.

Their try scoring became a procession, with a hat-trick from veteran John Morris and individual efforts from Matt Drinkwater and two well-taken scores from Charlie McIlroy providing the highlights.

The opposition replied with three converted tries and a penalty but the result was never seriously in doubt.

“We are now in third place in the league, just one point behind Firswood Waterloo with four games to play,” said skipper Shaun McDermott.

“What makes this situation even more tasty is that the last game of the season is against Firswood Waterloo.”
