Port Sunlight 15 Moore 3

MOORE travelled to Port Sunlight on Saturday where the rain ceased prior to kick off.

The conditions ensured a day of forwards play with the question as to how Moore's lighter but mobile pack could manage the conditions against heavier opposition.

However, the early encounters seemed to go in their favour.

With some good attacking play Moore forced their second kickable penalty position for Moore's man-of-the-match Dave Johnson to fire through the posts with a strong cross wind.

Before the break, the hosts levelled with their own penalty and as the second half began the heavier Port pack began to take control of the close quarter encounters resulting in their first unconverted try.

Moore continued to gain good field position but never quite managed to get across the whitewash. The final score came 10 minutes from time from forwards play.

Moore have a week off before hosting Ramsey.
