Warrington Sports Personality Unsung Hero of 2004 - Eddie Harris
3:52pm Monday 18th September 2006 in Sport By Mike Parsons
WARRINGTON Sports Personality Unsung Hero of 2004 Eddie Harris believes that he will continue to weave his coaching magic now that he is to lead the Wizards into their first campaign.
His players have previously switched allegiances between winter rugby with Woolston Rovers and summer action with Warrington Woolston Rovers but they have been granted pre-season training for the first time in his two-year reign as coach of both.
Harris, who led Woolston to a league and cup double last year and the summer team to the National League Three Grand Final, says that the chance to recharge their batteries has done the players a world of good.
He said: "The players have been absolutely flying in training and I am confident that Warrington Wizards will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.
"They are a great set of lads and I am very grateful for the effort that they have put in and the commitment they have shown.
"I am very pleased to have won a Warrington Sports Personality award but the credit must go to the lads."I may be there with them but I am not the one taking the knocks and putting in the hard graft."
His Warrington Sports Personality prizes are a season ticket courtesy of Warrington Wolves, £50 cash thanks to Warrington Guardian, 12 months subscription to Ultra-Fit magazine, one month membership to David Lloyd Leisure, goodies courtesy of Asics UK, a bottle of champagne off Majestic Wine Warehouse, a family ticket for Blackpool Tower/Louis Tussaud's.
