Sally, Patrick and Fisayo lead the Warrington gold rush at Macclesfield

WARRINGTON Athletics Club grabbed their second straight win in the McCain Young Athletes League at Macclesfield at the weekend.

A host of young athletes hauled in medals.

There were triple gold wins for Sally Dempster in the under 17s hammer, discus and javelin, while Patrick Muirhead won the under 17s 100m, long jump and triple jump crowns.

Fisayo Williamson-Taylor topped the under 13s 100m, 200m and long jump events.

There were also double gold wins for Melissa Boyer (under 13s 800m and shot), Lauren McDonnell (under 17s 80m hurdles and 100m), Jemma Eyre (under 17s 300m and 800m) and Mollie Crewe (300m hurdles and 200m).

Katy Entwistle equalled the club record in the pole vault on her way to a personal best, while there were also English Schools qualifying performances achieved by Harriet Knowles-Jones in the under 15s 800m, Jemma Eyre in the under 17s 300m and Mollie Crewe in the under 17s 300m hurdles.

Under 15s star Daniel Evans and under 17s runner Matt Hulse also confirmed their eligibility for the English Schools by going below the qualifying times in the 1,500m and 1,500m steeplechase respectively.
