WARRINGTON Athletics Club's Liam Thompson showed his competitors a clean pair of heels in the Fleetwood 10k road race.

He was never headed and crossed the line in 34mins 1sec, almost one minute ahead of the runner up.

Louisa Wood was the second woman home in 38mins 27secs.
