NEW Warrington Athletics Club member Harry Ellis was named as the best track athlete at the Cheshire Athletics Championships after setting a championship record in the under 17s 1,500m at the weekend.
Danny Cliffe also set a championship record in the junior men's 3,000m in Ellesmere Port, while Lawrence Walker broke the record in the 2,000m steeplechase.
James Sutton completed a treble with victories in the 100m, long jump and discus at under 15s level, while Alex Wort won the triple jump, 80m hurdles and shot put.
Matt Kindon was victorious in the senior men's 400m and 400m hurdles, while Claire Irons took gold in the senior women's 800m.
Luke Miller-Briggs won the junior men's 100m and 200m sprint double with Peter Morgan claiming victory in the 400m and Amy Talbot triumphing in the junior women's 3,000m.
Tom Jervis was first across the line in the under 17s boys' 3,000m with Ryan O'Neill winning the javelin and Jack Gleave clinching victory in the 400m in the under 15s boys' section. Sam Dykes won an 800m race that also saw Gleave finish third with Luke Johnston fourth, O'Neill fifth and Steven Darbyshire seventh.
Jess Deakin won the under 15s girls' hammer competition, while Liam Burthem was first in the under 13s boys' 800m and 1,500m.
