CHRIS Jones scored 67 runs but Stretton still lost by eight wickets at home to Pott Shrigley in Meller Braggins Cricket League Division Three.

Jones' innings helped Stretton to 145 for 9 but the visitors passed the total for the loss of only two wickets.

Stretton's second team won by 114 runs at Weaverham after posting 242 for 3. Ehsan Malik made 70 with Adam Green unbeaten on 55.

Sam Mather then took 5 for 14 with Green claiming 3 for 23 as Weaverham were dismissed for 128.

Stretton's Sunday side won by a massive 177 runs in their game of the season at home to Winnington Park.

Rob Jones hit 74 and Adam Garrod made 35 not out as Stretton amassed 221 for 3, with skipper Darren Weissenborn taking 4 for 5 and Jack Hindle grabbing 2 for 10 to dismiss Winnington for just 44.

The under 15s team maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 32-run win against Upton.

Connor Stevenson was unbeaten on 40 as Stretton made 136 for 5 before restricting Upton to 104 for 4.

The side had previously claimed an 86-run win over Wirral in the Cheshire Cup, with Sam Mather making 52 not out, and a 16-run triumph against Rylands.

Rob Jones' 30 not out was not enough for the under 13s as they could only make 98 for 8 in reply to Upton's 114.

The under 11s made progress in the cup with victory at Rylands.
