LEICESTER City professional footballer Harry Worley took two wickets as Grappenhall Cricket Club clinched Cheshire Cup victory on Sunday.
Seven days earlier former Chelsea defender Worley had made his first start for the Foxes as they were relegated from the Championship to League One with a 0-0 draw at promoted Stoke.
The Lymm 19-year-old has signed a three-year contract with Leicester having initially been on loan and, with the football season now over, returned to his roots at the weekend to play cricket for the club he represented as a youngster and where his father is vice chairman.
Worley claimed two wickets as Grappenhall dismissed hosts Old Parkonians for 120 in the cup clash, with Will Sharp taking 4 for 14.
Grappenhall were then cruising on 78 for 0 thanks to an opening partnership between Nick Sharp and 15-year-old Adam Roylance before rain brought an early end to the match, with Grappers winning by virtue of a better run rate.
Grappenhall had also won at Irby in Cheshire County Cricket League Division Two a day earlier.
Australian Cameron Park took 5 for 54 and Neil Titchard picked up 3 for 45 as Irby were dismissed for 150.
Ian Wright then made his third successive half century and Richard Green amassed 39 as Grappenhall reached the target for the loss of four wickets.
Grappenhall's second team drew with Irby after declaring on 220 for 8.
Chadbourne and Roylance put on 135 for the opening wicket, while Tony Wright took 3 for 4 as Irby fell short of the victory target.
Grappenhall's over 40s side were beaten by Chester Boughton Hall, who made 115 for 9 in their innings.
Dave Nicholson made 40 runs in reply but Grappenhall could only finish on 85 for 7.
