APPLETON'S women's team were beaten by 21 runs at Hawarden in the Twenty20 League despite a spirited performance with only nine players.
Threatening bowling from Jess Lewis and two run outs restricted Hawarden to just 80 runs but Appleton tumbled to 59 all out after openers Emma Barlow and Amy Page had retired on 22 and 20 respectively.
Appleton are keen to expand their squad and anyone interested in joining the club can contact captain Emma Barlow on 265738.
