THREE Warrington teenagers are a step closer to representing Great Britain’s American football team.
Will Shaughnessy and George Harvey, both 18, and 17-year-old Ryan Weaver have been named in the under 19s Great Britain national programme having come through a series of trials.
They beat off competition from hundreds of hopefuls to earn spots in the 50-man roster.
The trio will now attend training camps in an attempt to earn the chance to play against another international team in a game which is yet to be confirmed.
Linebacker Weaver and offensive tackle Shaughnessy both attended Penketh High School while Harvey, who also plays at offensive tackle, is a former student of Lymm High School.
All three play their club football for the Manchester Titans, a team Weaver currently captains.
