GRAHAM Green continued his fine form as he pounded to success for Warrington Athletics Club in the Dunham Massey 5k Road Race.

The London Marathon over 50s winner last month secured victory in the same age group after finishing sixth overall in 16mins 49secs.

Leighton Sharman raced for the first time in over three years to finish eighth – second under 20 – in 17mins 22secs.

Paul Bagan was seven seconds behind in ninth to win the over 40s age group, while Steve Watmough was 14th in 17mins 40secs to cross the line first in the over 55s age group.

Green’s youngest son Adam was 34th in 18mins 50secs, while David Gill completed the club contingent in 42nd place in 19mins 15secs to win the over 60s age group.

Four personal bests were achieved by Warrington athletes during the Trafford AC Medal Meeting at Longford Stadium on Monday.

In the under 15s girls' age group, Ashley Nemits set a best time of 40.80secs as she won her 300m race and gets closer to the club record of 40.25secs held by Carys McAulay.

Meg Corker won her 75m hurdles race in a new electronic best time of 11.43secs, just outside her best 'hand' time.

In her race Lisa Halliday finished second with a time of 13.94secs.

Under 13s athlete Evie Schofield, in only her second hurdles race, improved her best time to 12.48secs as she won over the 70m distance.

She also finished in fifth place in the 75m with 11.42secs.

In the same event Laura Armstrong smashed her best time as she finished fourth – improving from 12.15secs to 11.40secs.

Armstrong also smashed her best time, improving from 24.74secs to 23.65secs as she finished sixth.

In the under 11s boys' 600m Jacob Pryor was fifth, recording 2mins 05.49secs.
