FREE places are being offered for elite runners to take part in the Fraser Wealth Management Warrington 10k.

Warrington Road Runners, who host the race, is offering free places to a number of female runners who have run a sub-39 minute 10k and males who can run the distance in under 34 minutes.

This year’s race takes place on Thursday, June 21, at Woolston Park and race director Tom Greaves says they are looking for people to challenge the current course records.

“Any profits from the race go back into the club to help subsidise coaching, training and kit,” he said.

“It’s a way of saying thank you to runners for supporting the race and our club.

“We know it’s a flat course and want to attract some top class runners to challenge the course records.”

The current course records were set in 2014 by Warrington AC’s Danny Cliffe (31mins 55secs) and Vale Royal AC’s Katie Brough (34mins 45secs).
