WARRINGTON produced dominant displays in the home and away legs of their opening Federation of Crown Green Bowls match of the 2018 campaign against Fylde B.

Back in action after narrowly missing out on promotion to Division Four last season, the town's representative side laid a platform for going one better this time around with an overall 447-367 victory against the unbeaten 2017 victors of Division Six.

At Bank Park, eight winners from the home team meant they cruised home by 69 chalks.

Most notable was the performance of Grange Sports' Colin Dean, who won 21-4, and King & Queen man Damian Morrison, who delivered a professional 21-5 result.

The Warrington away team also had eight winners at Hambleton Village BC, which secured the leg victory by 11 chalks.

At a point the scores were level, Steve Gilfedder produced the goods with a 21-11 victory when last on the green and secured the player-of-the-match award.

The Woolston man was backed up well by the rest of the team, including debut performance victories from Andy Carr, James Longshaw and Danny Bennett.
