Burtonwood Bridge 62 Rochdale Cobras 12

FOR the second week running, Burtonwood Bridge ran riot to rack up a big scoreline in North West Men’s League Division Three.

After putting 43 points on Crosfields A last week, Lee Cunningham’s side passed 60 against Rochdale Cobras at Fir Tree Lane on Saturday.

Oli Morrissey scored a hat-trick, with Craig Holcroft scoring twice as Bridge ran in 11 tries overall.

Craig Stanton, Aidan Doyle, Ross Young, Almer Salvilla, James Innes and Gary Whaley were the other try-scorers, with Greg Peters kicking nine conversions.

“To score 62 points against anyone in the same division as you is a genuine feat,” Cunningham said.

“We must not sit back and rest on the laurels of the last two scorelines.

“To score over 100 points in those fixtures is amazing but we must strive to improve even further.”
