HE may have only returned to the ring after a year out last month, but Padgate boxer Nathan Wheatley already has a date for his next fight.

“The Wire” has been lined up for a fight on Saturday, May 12, at Liverpool’s BT Convention Centre.

Wheatley’s opponent is yet to be named, but the 29-year-old middleweight will be looking to extend his unbeaten professional record to nine wins from as many bouts.

Last time out on March 31, Wheatley outpointed Casey Blair in Preston in what was his first fight in more than 12 months due to a shoulder injury.

Before that, fellow Warringtonian Danny Craven has been lined up to fight Ben Hall in Brentwood, Essex, on Saturday, April 28.
