WARRINGTON racer Joe Charlton had to fight through the field for a top-10 finish as the British Karting Championship returned.
In the opening round of the new season on Easter Sunday, the 24-year-old started in sixth but an incident on the start line moved him down to 13th.
However, Charlton fought his way back to finish a respectable seventh at the Glan-y-Gors track in North Wales.
“The race was close and very intense,” he said.
“Whilst I didn’t finish in the position I had aimed for it has spurred me on to train harder and lead the next stage on April 22.”
