Latchford Albion 48 Leigh Miners A 6

A STUNNING burst of 38 unanswered second-half points propelled Latchford Albion to victory on Saturday.

The visitors opened the scoring in the first minute at Victoria Park, but tries from Adam Wadsworth and Carwyn Chamberlain, plus one conversion from Lewis Johnston, gave Albion a narrow half-time lead.

After the break, it was one-way traffic as Johnston ran in a hat-trick of tries and kicked one more goal to take his personal points tally to 16.

Jake Ashton, Phil Woolacott, Chris Nicholas and Adam Wood also crossed the whitewash, while further goals came from Chris Griffiths, twice, George Briggs and Chris Joynson.

Albion travel to Haresfinch on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm.

Latchford Albion A 14 Littleborough 20

DESPITE holding a 14-point lead at one stage, Latchford Albion A succumbed to league leaders Littleborough.

Sam Dobson and Owen Nugent scored in the first 10 minutes to give the hosts a superb start, with Rick Metcalfe adding a conversion.

Mal Mason added a further try before the break, but Littleborough pulled back two tries to narrow the deficit to 14-10 at half time before taking over in the second half.

Dave Yii’s men travel to Higginshaw on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm.
