WARRINGTON Hockey Club’s women were gutsy in a 1-0 loss to top-of-the-league Alderley Edge as they battled to retain their Division One status.
Sally Froggatt was player of the match for her defensive display.
The seconds drew 1-1 with Neston’s thirds after breaking the deadlock when Molly Rudd deflected home Vicky Stout’s hit.
The men’s first team had only 10 players available at Leyland, where they were level at half time thanks to a stunning goal from Ben Vickers but lost 4-1. The seconds beat Golborne’s thirds 2-1 with goals from Mark Hooper and Dan Sutton.
