JULIE Hicken had a successful trip north of the border as she returned to Warrington Athletics Club with two gold medals.
Hicken competed at the Scottish Masters Indoor Championships in Glasgow, running in the 60m and 200m races.
Over the shorter distance, she finished fifth in the race for athletes aged 40 to 59, but her time of 9.54secs was enough to win her the over 55s gold medal.
She did even better over 200m, finishing fourth in the 50-55 race and picking up another over 55s gold with a personal-best time of 32.12secs.
Both times put her third in the UK masters rankings for over 55s.
Meanwhile, Dave Gill travelled to Cardiff to tackle the Welsh Masters Indoor Championships over the weekend and picked up two medals.
Gill was competing over 400m and 1500m and impressed over both distances in a meeting which also incorporated the South West Masters.
He finished third overall in the over 60s age group in the 1500m, but his time of 5mins 10.28secs was enough to win him Welsh Championship gold.
In the 400m, Gill stopped the clock at 65.92secs and that earned him a silver medal.
