HARRIET Knowles-Jones ended a memorable year in style by winning gold at the European Cross Country Championships.
Warrington Athletics Club's young star stormed clear of the women's under 20s field in Samorin, Slovakia, to take home the top prize by clocking 13mins 48secs.
Knowles-Jones finished 11 seconds clear of Hungarian silver medallist Lili Anna Toth, with Germany's Miriam Dattke winning bronze.
The 19-year-old's performance was also pivotal to Great Britain scooping the team gold medal which was also on offer.
Having won bronze in last year's race in Chia, Italy, and silver in 2015 when the race was run in Hyeres, France, the Lymm runner now completes the set of medals at the European Championships.
