LATCHFORD Albion are inviting teams to take part in their inaugural Rugby League Nines Touch Festival.

The tournament, which it is hoped will become an annual fixture, will be held at Victoria Park Stadium on Saturday, October 28.

This year, the event will be a fundraiser for local amateur player Alex Green, who has represented both Albion and Crosfields.

Alex, son of former Latchford player and coach Jimmy Green, was injured whilst abroad and the club are trying to raise funds to help with his rehabilitation.

The festival is open to clubs, organisations or anybody wishing to enter a team.

It is also hoped a team of currents players from Warrington Wolves will take part in the tournament.

For any further information or to enter a team, please contact Mike Byron of Latchford Albion on 07769788995 or Crosfields’ Dave Reid on 07954256369.

Teams require 11 players, with an entry fee of £10 per player, and must be registered and confirmed prior to the event.

The tournament gets underway at 10.30am.
