THELWALL rider Aidan Collins bowed out of full-time racing in style by winning his final event.
The former Lymm High School student won the final round of this year’s British Flat Track Championships in Eastbourne to secure second place in the final standings.
Collins, who has competed in flat track racing for the past decade, will now concentrate on Ride & Skid It, his speedway experiences business but will race at some events on a non-competitive basis.
With Alan Birtwistle already being crowned champion, it was between Collins and Toby Hales for second spot behind him.
Collins had the first pick of gate positions for the final and he got off to a flying start.
He maintained his momentum until the chequered flag dropped to ensure he held off Hales to sign off on a winning note.
