Here is our round-up of Saturday's action in the Cheshire League

PREMIER DIVISION:

WHILE praising his side’s spirit for maintaining their unbeaten start to the campaign, Rylands boss Darren Davies says his team should have taken more than a point from their game against Crewe FC.

It took a late James Daniels goal to rescue a 2-2 draw for Blues on Saturday, who had taken an early lead through Jonny Dawson.

Ian Carr and Nathan Southern had put Crewe ahead before Daniels’ superb volley ensured a point and Davies was balanced in his assessment of the game.

Rylands have no game this weekend but their next two fixtures see them welcome Whaley Bridge (September 16) and Knutsford (September 23) to Gorsey Lane.

“I'm not quite sure what to make of today. We wasted the early start we had and we didn't look ourselves in the first half,” he said.

“On the other hand, the spirit and desire to preserve that unbeaten start was fantastic and the goal from Jimmy, at that stage of the game, was stunning.

“I still feel it's a game we should be winning. We have a week off now and then two huge home games against the top two.

“Even this early on, they are huge games now.”

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, substitutes Ellis Houghton and Thomas Lees both scored as Greenalls PSO secured a notable 3-2 victory at Denton Town.

Gavin Horner was also on the scoresheet as Greens won their first league game of the season at the seventh attempt.

Eagle Sports were on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline against Poynton at Thornton Road.

Alex Brisco scored twice for the hosts, but they slipped to their third defeat in a row.

Warrington Town Reserves are due to travel to Congleton VR last night, Wednesday.

LEAGUE TWO:

JOE Holt’s hat-trick helped Moore United to a 6-3 victory over Buxton Reserves, their third straight win.

Aron McGrath, twice, and Matthew Arnold were also on the scoresheet for Moore at Tetley Social Club.

Orford had Liam Moran’s brace and further strikes from Liam Leicester and Daniel Wilcock to thank as they won 4-2 at St Helens Town Reserves, while Grappenhall Sports were beaten 5-2 at Unicorn Athletic despite two goals from Odiloni Koubemba.
