WARRINGTON’S Federation bowls team faced Bradford on Sunday and, despite overall defeat, there were notable successes.

The home team won by 16 chalks at Bank Park, inflicting Bradford’s first aggregate away defeat since their team was formed two years ago.

Dave Penketh was a 21-5 winner, while Sandra Gilfedder won 21-10 in her first representative game.

The away team were beaten by 60 chalks on a tricky green at Shipley, with David Twigg, Matt Humphrys and Simon Harrison the only victors.

The next game is against Bolton on Sunday, July 23.
