WARRINGTON RUFC’S junior colts are celebrating a superb end to the season after winning two cups in the space of a week.

They won the Raging Bull Junior League Cup in emphatic style in Wigan on Sunday with a 55-7 victory over Littleborough.

That came just seven days after retaining their Lancashire League Cup title with a 24-13 win over Liverpool Collegiate at Fleetwood.

The club’s under 13s side have also finished the season with silverware as they won the Lancashire Cup at Fylde.

Nathan Bass, twice, and Christian Johnson scored tries for Warrington in their 15-15 draw, but they were awarded the cup by virtue of being the away side.

The club’s junior rugby chairman, Andy Kellett, hopes the success of the younger players will be reflected in a few years by featuring for the Walton Lea Road outfit at senior level.

“We have a superb mini and junior section at Warrington,” he said.

“We hope that the development of these young players will be reflected at senior level in seasons to come.”
