HAVING secured another league title, Warrington Wolves Handball Club are now turning their attention to securing a fifth EHA National Cup in a row.
After being presented with their second Super 8s crown in three seasons after Saturday’s 30-23 victory over West London Eagles, the club now focuses on a date with north west rivals North East Manchester Hawks.
The final takes place on Sunday, May 21, at London’s Copper Box Arena.
The club play home matches outside the town but are part of the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation and have seven Warrington-born players in their squad.
One of them, captain Stephen Clarke, says the team are determined to bring home the trophy once again.
“Spirits are very, very high at the minute and we are massively gearing ourselves up for the cup final,” he said.
“Our key matches were always going to be against Hawks, they are a very tough side.
“They are a formidable team that shouldn’t be taken lightly.
“We’ve beaten them twice this season and that shows our tenacity and determination to win as a team.”
