WARRINGTON Athletics Club runner Rebecca Hardy enjoyed a productive afternoon in Blackpool on Saturday as she won both of her races.

Competing at the Blackpool Winter Warm Up meeting, Hardy won her 100m race in 13.3secs.

She followed that up by clocking a time of 28.7secs to win the 200m race.

Meanwhile, two of the club’s athletes went one better by recording treble victories the following day at an open meeting at Victoria Park.

Meg Corker scooped victories in the under 13s girl’s 75m in 10.6secs, the 70m hurdles in 11.8secs and the long jump by leaping 4.15 metres.

In the under 9s boys age group, Like Illidge won his 75m, 150m and 600m races.

Other wins for the club included Joshua Van Schoor, who won the under 11s boys 600m, Olivia Baker in the under 17s women’s 800m and Cameron Duff in the under 17s men’s 200m.

Thomas Baines won his 400m race, while Josh Herrington won the High Jump event and Cameron Meakin was first home in the under 20s 200m.

Jack Stubbings was victorious in his 800m race and Hannah Shaw won her 100m hurdles and Megan Kettle claimed top prize in the under 17s hammer throw.

Elsewhere, Warrington Athletics Club veteran runner David Gill made the short trip to take on the Liverpool Half Marathon on Sunday.

Gill ran an impressive race to stop the clock at 1hr 24mins 47secs, which was good enough to finish 112th overall.

However, Gill’s time was quick enough to ensure he won the over 55s age group.
