THREE of Warrington Athletic’s Clubs young stars will travel to the capital to play their part in one of the most iconic events of the British sporting calendar.

Jordan Jones, Joe Buckley and Lauren Ferris have been selected as members of the North West team for the London Mini-Marathon on Sunday, April 23.

The race is run over the final three miles of the gruelling London Marathon course.

Jones and Buckley were in action on Saturday as they were part of a seven-strong Warrington team to attend the Northern 5km Road Race Championships.

Both boys took part in the under 15s race in Blackpool, with Jones finishing fifth in 16mins 52secs and Buckley finishing one place and two seconds behind him.

Alongside Isaaq Ataullah, 24th, they were able to scoop the team bronze medal for Warrington.
