WOOLSTON Rovers head coach John Fieldhouse says his side need to act now to correct their shaky start to the 2017 season.

Saturday’s 22-16 reverse at Stanningley followed an opening day loss to neighbours Rylands Sharks to leaves Rovers bottom of the National Conference League Division Three.

They welcome Elland to Monks Sports Club on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm, and Fieldhouse thinks they deserve more than what they have.

“This weekend needs to be the time for our players to get that elusive first win of the season,” he said.

“The way that we have played in the opening two games has been really good for the most part and we are unlucky to have got nothing from them.

“We must start converting more of the opportunities that we are creating. Once we start doing this, the confidence will start to flow and we will become a very hard team to play against.

“We know that Elland will be difficult opponents but we will make sure that we prepare properly so we are ready for action on Saturday afternoon.”
