SOME of Warrington Rowing Club's most promising juniors were in action at Great Britain’s junior trials on Saturday.

Ella Stanhope and Libby Myers put in strong performances in the junior women’s under 16s category, with Stanhope finishing ninth and Myers coming home just behind her in 11th to mark both out as ones to watch in the coming years.

Rachel Ozsanlav-Harris competed well in the under 18s race, but a back injury hampered her performance and she eventually finished 38th.

Among the junior men, the club had strong representation in the under 18s section in the shape of Alastair Eaves, Dan Lee and Connor Guerin.

All three raced well and were invited to row again on Sunday in double sculls.

The trio now wait to hear if they have made it to the next stage.

This weekend will be a busy one for the club, with the women’s Under 16s and Under 18s heading to Nottingham to race in Sunday’s Head of the Trent while the younger junior squads are competing in the Trafford Head on Saturday.
