A PACKED card has been organised to help celebrate Phoenix Fire Boxing Club’s 25th anniversary on Saturday.

The celebratory tournament takes place at Parr Hall and features some of the club’s brightest young talents in action.

Imad Nasseb will defend his Northern Flyweight belt against South Cheshire’s Jake Locke, while elite light-welterweight Courtney Chadwick takes on Michael Hedges of Knowsley Vale.

Welterweight Casey Brown goes up against Tom Cowling, while exciting youth lightweight JJ Taylor squares up to Astley VIP’s Harry Winnard.

Damian Ridpath, Phoenix Fire’s head coach, says it promises to be a special night for both the club and for boxing in Warrington.

“Normally it can be difficult to get all the elite boxers on the same event but it will happen at this special tournament,” he said.

“This event, with the quality of boxing on offer on the same night, will be the best boxing event Warrington has seen in over a decade.”

A few tickets still remain for the event and are available on the door for £10.

Youth lightweight Sam Watson will miss the event, but he enjoyed success on Saturday as he took home the Merseyside and Cheshire ABA Youth Lightweight title with a points victory over Jack Jones.

Watson scored consistently with long-range shots and counters to take the judges’ decision.
