CHESHIRE Wire’s under 14s Green side were the weekend’s most convincing winners as they put in a sterling performance to beat West Lancashire Warriors.

Despite fielding only seven players, Wire were able to overwhelm their hosts on their way to a 90-27 victory.

They averaged nearly 25 points per quarter as they controlled the game, with James Harrop and Max Pedder both scoring with buzzer-beating shots assisted by point guard Mike Holce.

The team will hope to continue their momentum on Saturday when they face Liverpool.

The club’s under 16s also enjoyed a successful weekend Prem squad, who secured a 59-49 victory over Newcastle Eagles while the Green side won 81-42 at Manchester Magic II.

In the under 18 age group, the Wire first team won on the road, beating Lancashire Spinners Bury 74-43.
